  • Isabelle Geffroy (born 1 May 1980 in Tours), is better known as Zaz. She is a French singer who mixes jazzy styles with French variety and soul. Her hit “Je veux”, taken from her debut album Zaz (released on May 10, 2010), is her most well-known. Her mother was a Spanish teacher and her father worked at an electric company. She entered Conservatoire a rayonnement régional de Tours in 1985 with her brother and sister. They attended courses from five to eleven years old. She studied music theory, specifically the guitar, violin and choral singing. She moved to Bordeaux in 1994. She took singing lessons in 1995 and spent a year playing sports in Bordeaux. She also studied kung fu under a professional coach. She was awarded a scholarship by the regional council in 2000.
